Anyone of any background, ethnicity or ability can sign up. As long as you are aged 18 or over we can accept you.

We cannot guarantee work but we will put you forward for every role that you are suitable for. Each production contacts us with a specific brief for what types of people they need, we will then suggest anyone who meets that brief.

Good availability or flexibility is preferred as most filming will take place during the normal working week Monday to Friday. However, some productions do shoot at weekends too. The more flexible you can be, the more work you can get.

Firstly you’ll receive a message notifying you about a potential job. You will then need to complete an availability check on your profile identifying which days you are available. This is not yet a firm offer of work but once you have provided this info you can be considered for the production.

You will receive your shooting location, call time and any other final information the day before you shoot. Productions are often very fluid so we won’t receive this until the day before but once we do we will let you know straight away.

You will be provided with all the info you need once booked but if you have any further questions you can contact us via the message option on your profile. You can also find the answers to most questions via the FAQs section on the website.

Rates of pay vary from job to job, but we will always inform you of the amount prior to booking and let you know how much commission will be taken.

This depends on the production. It can take up to 8 weeks for payment to be issued, but it is often much quicker than that. Rest assured that as soon as we have received your payment, we will issue it straight away.

We will pay you via PayPal using the email address you used to set up your profile. If it's different, please email us at info@northernextras.co.uk letting us know which email to use and we’ll add that info to your profile.

We take 15% commission from fees below £400 or 20% if the overall fee is over £400. We also charge an annual registration fee of £25 which will be deducted from your first job. We do not take tax or national insurance deductions; you are solely responsible for declaring these to HMRC.

Only you and us. We will keep all of your details private and they will only be shared with a production company if you are cast and if necessary.

Yes. Once you’ve created your profile, it’s really important to keep it up to date with any changes of appearance or contact details. You could miss out on castings if we cannot contact you and if your appearance changes it could affect your castability.

Yes. If you’d like to delete your profile, email us at info@northernextras.co.uk and we’ll remove it for you.
